Algeria petro deal with British-Chinese consortium
Algeria’s state-owned oil and gas company, Sonatrach, announced a partnership agreement between a British and Chinese firm on June 11th. The goal of this agreement is to establish a petrochemical complex in Oran, Algeria, according to Arab World.
The complex is expected to have an annual production capacity of 550,000 tonnes of polypropylene and, according to the state news agency, the project is scheduled to be completed within 42 months.
The agreement marks an important milestone in Algeria’s efforts to expand its petrochemical industry and attract international investment.
