Morocco reaches knockout stages of Women’s World Cup

Morocco beat Colombia 1-0 to reach the knockout stages of the Women’s World Cup.
The North Africans made history, being the first women’s team from the Arab or North African region to get past the competition’s group stage.
An Anissa Lahmari penalty-save rebound proved to be the decisive goal against Colombia, setting up a last 16 tie for the Moroccans as they finished second in their group.
The Atlas Lionesses are only one of eight tournament debutants to make it to the knockout phases.
