Ecuadorian presidential candidate assassinated

Presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio Valencia, 59, was shot dead on 9th August, after a rally in Quito, the Ecuadorian capital, a country which was developing cordial relations with Morocco, .
Nine others were injured in the attack, including two policemen and a national legislature candidate. One alleged attacker was shot and killed by security personnel, while six other suspects were arrested, prosecutors told Al-Arabiya.
President Guillermo Lasso declared a state of national emergency but plans to hold general elections on 20th August.
