Lebanon: former central bank chief accused of financial crimes
As reported by Reuters via Asharq Al-Awsat, Lebanon’s justice ministry officially charged former central bank governor Riad Salameh with financial crimes on September 5th.
Salameh was taken into custody on September 3rd in connection with alleged financial crimes, including the illicit enrichment of public funds.Â
He has long denied all accusations of wrongdoing.
