US military says withdrawal from Niger is complete
On September 16th, the United States and Niger announced the completion of the withdrawal of U.S. troops and assets from Niger, according to AFP.
The United States had deployed over 1,000 troops in Niger as part of anti-jihadist operations.
Following a 2023 coup, Niger’s new military leadership annulled the military cooperation agreement with Washington.
