Pro-Iran groups in Iraq claim attack on Israel
A pro-Iran coalition in Iraq claimed responsibility for a drone attack against Israel on 22nd September, according to Reuters.
The Iraq coalition stated on Telegram that âThe fighters of the Islamic Resistance of Iraq targeted on Sunday morning a strategic location in the occupied territories using drones,â and that the attacks against Israel were âin support of our people in Gazaâ. Israelâs military said it had intercepted âmultiple suspicious aerial targetsâ coming from Iraq overnight. It came as regional tensions threatened to spill over almost a year into the war in Gaza, which has drawn in Iran-backed groups across the region.
