Rabat named 2026 World Book Capital

UNESCO’s Director General announced on October 8th that Morocco’s capital Rabat will be World Book Capital for 2026, according to Africa News.

Rabat, is home to Africa’s third largest international book and publishing fair, will begin the year of celebrations on April 23rd 2026, on World Book and Copyright Day.

Rio de Janeiro in Brazil has been named as the host city for 2025, while the 2024 capital was Strasbourg in France.
