Qatar expands agrifood investments in Algeria
Qatar is expanding its investments in Algeria’s agricultural sector, reflecting the deepening of ties between the two countries, according to The New Arab.
On September 20th Algeria’s National Agricultural Land Office granted a Qatari farming company a certificate of qualification for a concession in Algeria.
The economic relationship between Qatar and Algeria has been flourishing under the tutelage of Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebboune, who was recently elected to a new term in office. Recent joint endeavours include the expansion of a joint steel plant in Jijel in 2022 and the start of preliminary work on an Algerian-Qatari-German hospital in Algiers in August.
