Sudan records 131 new cholera cases amid epidemic
Sudan has recorded 131 new cholera cases as authorities battle a new epidemic which has already claimed the lives of over 1,200 people, according to MiddleEastMonitor and Agencies on December 11th.
The cholera epidemic was declared by the Sudanese Ministry for Health on August 12th and has affected over 46,000 people.
Cases of Dengue fever, a mosquito spread virus, have also been treated said the Sudan ministry, with over 8,500 reported infections.
The deterioration in public health comes as citizens continue to suffer through the ongoing civil war which has resulted in the largest humanitarian crisis on record and displaced millions of people.
