69 dead after boat sinks in Moroccan waters
Malian authorities say at least 69 people, including 25 Malians, have died following a Spain-bound West African boat capsized off Morocco, according to BBC News.
A statement from the ministry of Malians abroad said the “makeshift boat” was carrying around 80 people, only 11 of whom survived. At least nine of the survivors are Malian.
The capsizing happened last week, but was only confirmed by the ministry on December 26th.
