UN security council welcomes five new non-permanent members
Five new non-permanent members have been added to the United Nations security council for the 2025 to 2026 period.
The body, for whom Algeria has become its new president, has added Denmark, Greece, Panama, Pakistan and Somalia to its 15-member body, which includes five permanent and another five non-permanent member states.
Algeria said as president of the council that it intends to continue highlighting the Palestinian cause along with other Arab and African issues.
