Two jailed for life after 2017 Burkina Faso restaurant attack

Two people have been sentenced to life in prison by a court in Burkina Faso over a deadly attack on a Turkish restaurant in the capital that killed 19 people back in 2017, officials said according to Africa News.

The duo opened fire at the Aziz Istanbul restaurant on Ouagadougou’s main avenue back in August 2017. No claim of responsibility was mde for the attack which took the lives of 10 Burkinabes and nine foreigners.

The restaurant was positioned just 200 metres from a hotel and café attacked the previous January which killed 30 and wounded 71.
