New footage reveals torture in Garnada prison in eastern Libya
New images have surfaced of brutal torture in the Libyan prison of Garnada, in the latest human rights abuses by eastern Libya authorities under strongman Khalifa Haftar.
According to Agenzia Nova on January 13th, images posted on social media show prisoners being severely beaten with sticks, whips and bare hands by men in military uniform.
The maximum security prison of Garnada has been run by the special forces of Khalifa Haftar since 2015, and is infamous for its systematic abuse of detainees.
