Egypt: Red Sea survivors accuse authorities of cover up
Survivors of a deadly dive-boat sinking in the Red Sea which claimed the lives of four people, with seven still missing, have accused Egyptian authorities of covering up the incident.
According to the BBC on January 15th, the 11 survivors said the Egyptian investigators were determined to blame it on a huge wave, while meteorologic data supports their claims that the sea was not rough enough.
The Red Sea survivors also say they were pressured to sign documents in Arabic, relying on the translation of an employee of the boat company, and were asked sign waivers which stated they did not accuse anyone of “criminal wrongdoing”.
