Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammad Mustafa, has said on January 15th that it “will not be acceptable” for any entity, apart from the Palestinian Authority to run the Gaza strip in the future, Asharq Al-Awsat via Reuters reported.

Mustafa made his comments during a visit to Norway, one of the three European countries which officially recognised a Palestinian state during May.

In 2007, Hamas took power of Gaza, restricting the authority’s limited self-rule to areas within the Israeli-occupied West Bank. The US has urged for a reinvigorated Palestinian Authority which would govern the West Bank and Gaza before subsequent statehood, which the Israeli government is against.
