Three killed in Israel’s first attack on Syria’s new authorities
For the first time an Israeli air strike hit a military target of Syria’s new authorities on January 15th, causing three deaths, according to a war monitor and medical source.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that “an Israeli drone launched an attack targeting a military convoy… killing two members of the Military Operations Department” as well as a civilian in the Quneitra region of southern Syria, Arab News via AFP reports.
A Medical source told AFP that a local official from from Ghadir Al-Bustan was one of the three people killed in the attack.
Rami Abdel Rahman, who leads the British-based Observatory with a network of sources inside Syria, said: “This is the first Israeli strike targeting the security forces of the new authorities.”
