Italy pledges €400m for Tunisia’s green energy transition

Italy has pledged €400m to support Tunisia’s green energy transition, as ties between Rome and it’s Mediterranean neighbours continues to grow.
According to Africa News, the deal was formalised on January 16th, marking a twofold increase from Italy’s previous two year deal in 2021.
The agreement comes after increasing co-operation to close migrant crossings saw Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni agree €50m development package with Tunisian president Kais Saied back in April, according to Info Migrants.
