An Israeli airstrike in the north of the West Bank has killed at least ten people late on January 29th, according to Palestinian health authorities, Asharq Al-Awsat reported.

The strike from a warplane targeted a Palestinian militant cell within the area based on intelligence, the Israeli military said.

Israel using a jet fighter to launch a strike on the village of Tamoun late on January 29th, is the latest intensification in its clampdown on Palestinian militants, within the occupied territory.

Tamoun residents said the airstrike hit a house within a busy neighbourhood. The Palestinian health ministry said that the death toll was expected to increase.

Prior to the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel of October 7th 2023, Israeli strikes in the West Bank were not frequent.
