Algeria criticises ‘degrading treatment’ of its citizens in Paris
Algeria has summoned the French ambassador in Algiers to protest against the “degrading treatment” of Algerian passengers at Paris airports, in a sign of deepening tensions between the two countries as reported by RFI on January 30th.
The decisions follows what Algiers described as “consistent testimonies” about discriminatory practices by border police at Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports.
Algeria’s foreign ministry expressed “deep concern” over reports from travellers alleging that “provocative, degrading and discriminatory” activity had been carried out by French authorities.
