French PM to put job on line by forcing budget through
French Prime Minister François Bayrou will force through France’s budget without a vote on February 3rd, in a move likely to prompt a no-confidence motion from the left that could bring down his government after not even two months in office, reported Le Monde.
The assemblée nationale, France’s parliament, is on the afternoon of February 3rd scheduled to look at the budget bill drawn up by a joint committee of 14 lawmakers from the two parliamentary chambers.
This is a high-risk move for both PM Bayrou and president Emmanuel Macron, who in Bayrou had found his sixth prime minister since taking office eight years ago.
