US senator warns Tunisian president “will go the way of Assad”
A US senator has urged his country to cut aid to Tunisia, warning President Kais Saied that he “will go the way of Assad”.
According to Middle East Monitor, Republican senator Joe Wilson condemned Saied’s “authoritarian takeover of Tunisia”, claiming the country is an Iranian puppet.
He said on X: “Tunisian dictator Kais Saied was a major supporter of the brutal Assad regime in Syria. Assad is not laughing anymore and Saied will go the way of Assad. Today sadly, Tunisia is a full rule of gun police state working with the CCP, War Criminal Putin, and the Iranian regime.”
