Niger ruling junta expels Red Cross

The military junta ruling Niger has ordered the International Committee of the Red Cross to leave the country, according to RFI on February 6th.
The junta did not give any details about the decision. The foreign affairs ministry asked the Red Cross to leave Niger after denouncing certain agreements, RFI was told by a civil society source in Niger.
The Red Cross, which published a report on its activities in Niger during the first half of 2024 on February 4th, the day of the announcement of its expulsion, has yet to publicly react.
