Egypt announced on February 9th that it will host an emergency Arab summit on February 27th to discuss the ongoing developments in the Palestinian territories following statements by US president Trump and Israeli PM Netanyahu about displacing Palestinians, reported Anadolu Ajansi.

Egypt’s foreign minister said in a statement that the summit, scheduled to take place in capital Cairo, came folowing coordination with Bahrain and the current Arab League president.

The decision to hold the summit followed “consultations and coordination by Egypt at the highest levels with brotherly Arab countries in recent days, including the State of Palestine, which requested the summit, in order to address the latest and critical developments regarding the Palestinian cause,” according to the statement.
