King of Jordan says he will accept Palestinian child refugees
The King of Jordan has said his country can take 2000 critically ill Palestinian children after meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House.
According to Africa News on 12 February, King Abdullah II of Jordan said: “I think one of the things that we can do right away is take 2,000 children that are either cancer children or in very ill state to Jordan as quickly as possible and then wait for, I think, the Egyptians to present that plan on how we can work with the president to work on Gaza challenges.”
The promise comes after the King repeated his strong opposition to any attempts to displace Palestinians from Gaza, but he still remains vulnerable to US pressure, according to France24.
