Sudanese force stormed the country’s biggest displacement camp

In Sudan, a paramilitary force stormed the country’s biggest displacement camp, looting and setting the market as well as a number of homes alight, according to a local refugee group, the BBC reported on February 12th.
North Darfur’s Zamzam camp has been the target of extreme artillery shelling since late 2024 but this is the first time the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) is alleged to have sent in fighters.
An eyewitness said to the BBC that the circumstances at the camp had been “extremely catastrophic.” There had been a series of casualties but the hospital in the camp did not have a working surgery anymore.
