Turkey has removed trade and transit restrictions on Syria at the countries border, the trade ministry said on February 11th, advancing plans to widen trade after Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad’s fall from power, according to The New Arab via Reuters.

Goods imported or exported between the two countries or moved through Syrian border crossings will now face the same conditions as applied to other nations, according to the ministry.

Turkey’s trade ministry said: “The existing restriction lists on exports to and transit to Syria through the Turkish Customs Territory have been lifted.”
