Egypt met with Hamas to stop displacement plan
Egyptian officials and a Hamas delegation discussed the process of the ceasefire being implemented and the prisoner swap in Cairo, according to sources, the Middle East Monitor reported on February 13th.
The Hamas delegation, led by Khalil Al-Hayya, conveyed the movement’s openness to hand over a number of captives on February 15th as agreed with Israel, however it has refused to accept demands from US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to free all the Israeli captives on that day.
Hamas called for a number of guarantees for the truce deal to carry on, such as the entry of humanitarian aid- including phones- and providing the exit for the wounded and ill.
