The president of the NGO Refugees in Libya has claimed that he has seen Osama “Al Masri” Njeem, the Libyan prison officer freed by Italy, commit war crimes.

According to Al-Jazeera 13 February, refugee activist and former prisoner in Libya, David Yambio said: “I saw him commit war crimes. I saw him kill people,” experiencing Al Masri’s brutal techniques first hand.

Wanted by the International Criminal Court for “crimes against humanity and war crimes, including murder, torture, rape and sexual violence”, Al Masri was arrested in Italy before being released in questionable circumstances and flown back to Libya, according to Maghrebi.
