Israel moves forward on plans to deliver 974 West Bank homes
Israel has issued a tender for the development of almost 1000 new settler homes located in the occupied West Bank, according to an anti-settlement watchdog, Asharq Al-Awsat via The Associated Press reported on February 17th.
The construction of 974 housing units would enable the Efrat settlement’s population to expand by 40% and obstruct the development of Bethlehem, according to Peace Now.
Hagit Ofran, who is leading the group’s settlement monitoring, said the construction process will commence following the contracting process and issuing of the permits, which could go on for at least a year.
Israel has delivered more than 100 settlements in the West Bank.
