EU urged to end Libyan funding after discovery of mass graves

Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and human rights groups have urged the European Union to end Libyan funding after 78 bodies of migrants were uncovered in the south of the country.
According to Middle East Eye on 17 February, MEP Tineke Strik said the discovery should be a “wake up call” for the European Commission to cease funding and co-operation programmes with Libya.
Libyan authorities uncovered 19 bodies in Jakharrah and another 59 in a mass grave in Kufra, with many having being shot before burial.
