UN seeking $6b billion to ease hunger in Sudan

The United Nations said on February 17th that it is looking for $6 billion for Sudan from international donors in 2025 to try and help ease suffering in what it described as one of the most devastating crises of our times, characterised by mass displacement and growing famine, reported Reuters.
The appeal represents a growth of more than 40% from last year’s total for Sudan at a time when aid budgets around the world are increasingly under strain.
This is partially due to a pause in funding announced by new US president Donald Trump in January that has strongly impacted programs across the globe.
