Morocco: Earthquake victims protest aid “injustice and corruption”

Survivors of the 2023 earthquake in Morocco demonstrated on 17 February, demanding action after recovery aid has been delayed for over a year.
According to The New Arab, hundreds gathered outside the parliament building in Rabat, after having travelled from remote regions in the Atlas mountains, calling for an end to “neglect, injustice and corruption.”
Ahmed Ibourk, a protester from a village deep with the Atlas range, said: “We’re freezing this winter under the tents. We’re slowly dying, and no one is listening to us.”
