The UAE president and ruler on February 19th told US Secretary of State Marco Rubio that the UAE is against the forced uprooting of Palestinians, according to UAE’s state media, the Middle East Eye via Reuters reported on February 19th.
WAM, the Emeritai state news agency said Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan “reaffirmed the UAE’s firm stance, rejecting any attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their land.”
The exchange took place this week, during Rubio’s tour of four days in the Middle East. Spokesperson for the US state department, Tami Bruce, said Rubio’s visit would prioritise regional cooperation, releasing US captives and reaching the ceasefire agreement’s next phase.
