Egypt and Spain agree on Gaza reconstruction

President of Egypt Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi and prime minister of Spain Pedro Sánchez reiterated on February 20th their joint rejection to US president Donald Trump’s proposal calling for depopulating the Gaza Strip, reported Africa News.

Speaking at a joint news conference in Madrid, Sisi called for the international community to support a reconstruction plan for Gaza “without the transfer of the Palestinian people.”

Sánchez said the depopulation of the Strip “would be immoral and contrary to international law and United Nations resolutions,” and “would have a destabilising effect at a regional and global level.”
