The governments in Cairo and Khartoum will form a joint team to oversee the reconstruction process in Sudan once the civil war is over, the Egyptian foreign minister said according to Middle East Eye on February 24th.
Badr Abdelatty announced this alongside his Sudanese counterpart Ali Al-Sadiq Ali in a press conference following a co-chaired a meeting on February 23rd of the Political Consultation Mechanism in Cairo.
“We agreed to form a joint working team to focus on reconstruction in Sudan, and the Egyptian companies can significantly contribute to the plan to rebuild, given their experience,” explained Abdelatty. “What has been destroyed in the devastating war, we hope to rebuild soon.”
