Sudanese militia accused of “war crimes” following civilian attack

A militia that is allied with the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) has been alleged to have committed war crimes in Sudan following an attack on a village last month that killed a minimum of 26 civillians, such as a child, the Middle East Eye reported on February 25th.
According to Human Rights Watch (HRW), the Sudan Shield Forces which backs the SAF in its battle against the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) “intentionally” attacked the village, Tayba, on January 10th.
The rights group, which is New York-based said the militia looted the property of civilians in a systematic manner. The group said that the militia also set houses on fire.
