War injuries strain medical facilities in DRC as rebels advance

Hospitals in The Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo are struggling to keep up with the amount of war wounded patients in the ongoing conflict between the military and M23 rebels.

WHOs Dr Jean Bruno Bureau chief for North Kivu said: “The fact is we do not have enough resources, in fact financial resources to provide all the support.”

Doctors without borders are reporting that medical facilities have been hit by artillery.
