US House Democrats demand release of pro-Palestinian protestor

A group of Democrats in the US House of Representatives have called for the Trump administration to release pro-Palestinian protestor Mahmoud Khalil, according to The National.
The former Columbia University student was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents at his home over the weekend, and he is being held in a migrant centre in Louisiana.
Khalil was born in Syria and is of Palestinian descent, according to an online biography, but is a permanent US resident with a green card.
