Civilians in the city of El-Fasher in the west of Sudan are being forced to seek refuge underground as the RSF intensify their siege on the city, according to Arab World on March 16th.

El-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, is the only major city in Darfur still under army control, making it a strategic prize and a coveted goal for the RSF.

The RSF are trying desperately to seize the city in order to increase their control over the region.
