Algerian Army foil smuggling attempts in major drugs operation

Algerian Army detachments thwarted attempts to smuggle over 3000 kilograms of cannabis from Morocco, according to Algerian government-friendly AL24 News on March 20th.
“As part of the sustained counterterrorism efforts and the fight against organized crime, units and detachments of the People’s National Army carried out, during the period of March 13-18, 2025, many operations resulting in quality results reflecting the professionalism, vigilance and permanent readiness of our armed forces across the national territory,” according to a statement from the People’s National Army.
The Algerian government are emphasizing their attempts to combat organised crime and terrorism on their border with Morocco, stating they had arrested 14 terrorist supporters in different operations.
