Latest reports from the Spanish Ministry of the Interior reveal that 269 migrants successfully entered the city of Ceuta from the beginning of the year until Saturday, this is an achievement for the Moroccan Government after it was reported that they had stopped 78,685 migrants from illegally crossing into European Union territory in 2024, according to HESPRESS.

The report highlights a significant decrease in maritime migration to Ceuta this year, there was a 63.6% drop in land-based migration to the city, with 266 migrants entering through land borders this year compared to 731 in the same period in 2024, a reduction of 388 individuals.

This decline was not limited to Ceuta, as similar trends were observed in Melilla, where only 17 migrants crossed the border by land, and one arrived by sea—figures matching those from the same period in 2024.
