Morocco-Spain trade hits record high

Morocco has surpassed Turkey in bilateral trade with Spain, with volume exceeding €22.7 billion. This positions Morocco as Spain’s third-largest non-EU trading partner.
According to Atalayar, Spanish exports to Morocco reached €12.86 billion (3.34% of Spain’s total exports), while imports from Morocco account for 2.3% of Spanish imports. Key trade sectors include fuel and vehicles from Spain to Morocco, and electrical equipment and knitwear from Morocco to Spain.
Spanish investment in Morocco stands at €1.9 billion, creating 27,600 jobs, while Moroccan investment in Spain totals €152 million. Spain now accounts for 37% of Morocco’s EU imports, with the relationship expected to strengthen further ahead of the 2030 World Cup.
