Glacier loss prompts UN to urge immediate climate action
The United Nations World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) has warned the world of the rapid depletion of glaciers across 19 different regions.
According to AfricaNews on March 21st, the WMO said this is the third year in a row that all 19 glacier regions have had a net loss of mass.
March 21st has been designated “world glacier day” by the UN.
