Germany closes embassy in South Sudan over fears of conflict

Germany has decided to shut down its embassy over fears of a impending major conflict.

According to the Associated Press, Germanys Foreign Minster Annulene Baerbock  made the decision to  due to concerns  that South Sudan is “on the brink of civil war”.

The country has faced ongoing instability since gaining independence from Sudan in 2011.While the country’s first civil war ended in 2018 ,political infighting now threatens to reignite the conflict.
