Kurdish-led forces withdrew from two Aleppo neighbourhoods on April 4th under a deal with the interim government of Syria, expanding Damascus’ control, as reported by Asharq Al-Awsat.

The agreement may lead to the SDF merging into the Syrian army and grants Kurds long-denied rights, including language use and citizenship.

It marks a major step in ending tensions between Kurdish authorities and the central government.
