Morocco signs $825m deal with US for Stinger missiles

Morocco has signed a $825m deal with the US to purchase 600 Stinger missiles, as Rabat’s arms race with Algeria heats up.
The sale of the portable air-defence systems for low flying targets, such as helicopters, was approved by the US on 15 April, according to Bulgarian Military.
With Algeria having received five Sukhoi Su-35 jets from Russia last month, the trade symbolises the growing tensions in North Africa.
