The United Nations Security Council has expressed concern as recent attacks by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have left at least 400 civilians dead in Sudan, as reported by Middle East Monitor on April 18th.
The fatalities included children and aid workers, with Jerome Bonnafont, Permanent Representative of France to the UN and President of the Security Council, releasing a statement saying that the RSF must be held to account.
“The members of the Security Council strongly condemned the repeated attacks on El Fasher as well as on the Zamzam and Abu Shouk camps for internally displaced persons in recent days by the RSF”.
