Sudan pleads security council to impose sanctions on rebel group

Sudan has asked that the United Nations Security Council enforce sanctions on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) rebel group, as reported by Saudi news agency Asharq Al-Awsat on April 20th.
The UN released a statement expressing their concern over the actions of the RSF against the civilian population in North Darfur.
Sudan has welcomed the fact that the UN condemned attacks on the city of al-Fasher by the RSF.
