South Africa to reopen apartheid-era crime inquiries

South Africa have revealed on April 30th the reopening of investigations into several apartheid-era crimes, including the 1985 killings of the Cradock Four, following a landmark legal settlement with victims’ families.
As reported by AP News, President Ramaphosa’s office acknowledged decades of state inaction and political interference that obstructed justice after the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
The renewed inquiries mark a significant step toward accountability nearly 30 years after the commission’s work began.
