Mauritanian army orders Sahrawi refugees to evacuate border zone

The Mauritanian army has reportedly ordered Sahrawi refugees to evacuate a border town due to security concerns due to the site’s use for illicit trade according to Moroccan government-friendly outlet HESPRESS on May 21st.
The Lebreika area in northeastern Mauritania has been declared a “no-go zone” by the military prohibiting civilian presence or commercial activity.
Such restrictions mean that the Tindouf refugee camps have been forced to be evacuated in order to comply with restrictions.
